Using technology

If you’re interested in computers and technology but not sure where to start, then contact a Learn Local organisation in your area to find out about the many computer and online courses they have on offer.

Learn Local tutors can work with you on a one-to-one basis or in a small group. Both pre-accredited and accredited training programs and courses are available in this learning area.

There are pre-accredited courses that cover the basics; for example, you might learn how to use a computer, manage documents, send an email or access the Internet. Or you could learn how to use an iPad or a tablet; chat online using Skype or create and share information using social media. There are also more advanced computer courses that will take you to the next level of learning and beyond; for example, you might want to learn how to use graphics software such as Photoshop.

If you want to get a qualification in order to get a job in this area, some Learn Locals also deliver relevant accredited courses, such as the Certificate IV in Information, Digital Media and Technology.

Technology has changed the way we do things in our daily life. It is very important to build your confidence in this area.
