Hungry for success

When Jayden was looking for work, he knew his communication skills were affecting his chances of finding a good job. His employment service provider suggested he enrol in Glen Park Community Centre’s Hungry 4 Success program.

“They thought it was a really good fit because I was lacking communication skills and I was always really anxious, so the program really stood out to them.”

The Hungry 4 Success program caters for young people between 16 and 25, who are out of work or have left school early. The program helps to prepare people for work in hospitality, cleaning, security, guest services and maintenance.

Glen Park Community Centre partnered with Glad Group and Eastland Shopping Centre as part of the Hungry 4 Success program. This sealed the deal for Jayden.

“The fact that there was a job placement at the end of it was an added bonus.”

By the end of the program, Hungry 4 Success had given Jayden much needed workplace skills in communication, problem solving and team work. Now he is a vital part of Glad Group, where he works as a cleaner.
