Taking that next step

After some years at home looking after her family, Kelly decided the time was right to explore new possibilities for herself.

“I worked in hospitality for five years, then I had a baby.”

Kelly came across the Getting Started with Computers program at Cloverdale Community Centre. This program is ideal for beginners but also includes learning how to use Microsoft Word, email and more.

“Learn Local courses are great. They have given me a new direction, provided new possibilities and a new outlook on life.”

Kelly found the support she needed from both her teachers and her classmates.

“I teach in other settings and the beauty of Learn Local providers is that students can learn more, classes are flexible, people learn what they need to and they learn faster in a relaxed setting. I’m proud to see so many students make rapid and profound progress. We have a lot of returning students, many of whom have become my friends, which is really nice.”
