Nominations for the 2015 Learn Local Awards are now open.
There are six award categories which celebrate the achievements and inspirational efforts of Learn Local practitioners, learners and organisations throughout Victoria.
Each year over 100,000 learners participate in training through Learn Local organisations. If you, or someone you know, has undertaken training, why not submit a nomination and get recognition for these achievements. The winner of the Award for Outstanding Pre-accredited Learner receives $5000 and finalists also receive $1000 each!
The winner of the 2014 Outstanding Pre-accredited Learners Award was Lisa Stimson who studied at LINK in Kaniva, which is in far western Victoria just near the South Australian border. After marrying a farmer and not coming from a farming background, Lisa completed a ‘Women in Ag’ course to get a better understanding of farming and to improve their business. Through her learning, Lisa gained the confidence to enrol and complete a Diploma in Agribusiness Management.
Nominations for this year’s awards close Friday 12 June 2015.
The Learn Local Awards will be presented by The Adult Community and Further Education Board in Melbourne on Thursday 10 September 2015.
