Building self worth

An innovative arts program run at Prahran Community Learning Centre (PCLC) was recently featured in the Age newspaper. PCLC’s arts training is designed to support disengaged at-risk youth, adult with learning difficulties and/or adults suffering from anxiety and mental illness.

PCLC’s arts trainer, Tony Senese won the Learn Local Outstanding Practitioner award in 2014 for engaging, encouraging and supporting his students who previously had negative attitudes and experiences with education, and helping them move into further study.

As a practising visual artist, Tony is committed to ensuring his students are engaged, connected and progressing – both ‘artistically and spiritually’ after finding other formal education pathways too difficult or confronting.

To find out more about this innovative arts program, go to the Prahran Community Learning Centre website or you can read the Age article here.
