Carpentry taster course is a big hit!

Preston Reservoir Adult Community Education (PRACE) have landed themselves a finalist nomination for the 2020 Victorian Learn Local Pre-accredited Pathway Program Award!

In May of last year, PRACE unveiled a new work shed to be the home for its new carpentry trade taster course, encouraging people to enrol and build some new skills.

The program took 50 hours, and lead to more than half of students pursuing pre-apprenticeships in carpentry/joinery at nearby Melbourne Polytechnic.

PRACE designed this program to improve literacy, numeracy, and communication skills across diverse adult learners.

A big congratulations to PRACE’s fantastic tutors and all students involved!

PRACE is located in Reservoir, and run a huge selection of programs, as well as producing their own resources and publications.
