It is ideal for people who are interested in landscaping, conservation and land management and gardening. If you are considering a career in agriculture or horticulture or would like an introduction to working in the industry this might be for you.
No prior experience is necessary.
You will be working in a team with fellow participants at a production nursery, you will gain abroad overview and practical, hands-on experience in plant recognition, soil properties and environmentally sustainable work practices – plus much more.
You will spend a lot of time outdoors (getting your hands dirty!) under the leadership of an experienced trainer and horticulturalist, along with sometime in the classroom learning basic theory and exploring study pathways.It is essential that participants wear suitable clothing for working in an outdoor environment: sturdy work boots, long sleeved shirt and a broad-brimmed hat.
